Privacy Policy for Ideation
Effective date: October 4, 2025
Ideation is an offline-first iOS app for capturing and organizing ideas. We do not operate servers for this app, we do not require an account, and we do not collect, track, sell, or share personal data.
What data the app uses
- On-device content: Your ideas, notes, tags, images, scores, statuses, and reminder times are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData. We do not have access to this content.
- Photos (optional): If you choose to attach an image, the app requests permission to read from your photo library for that action only. Images are stored locally with your idea.
- Notifications (optional): If you set a reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. No data is transmitted to us.
What we do NOT do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics SDKs
- No third-party advertising
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No data transfer to our servers (we don't run any)
Children's privacy
The app is rated 4+. It contains no content aimed at children and collects no personal information.
Your choices and controls
- Photos permission: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Ideation (adjust access).
- Notifications permission: iOS Settings → Notifications → Ideation (allow or disable).
- Delete your data: Deleting the app removes all locally stored app data from your device.
- Backups: If you use iCloud or Finder/iTunes backups, your device backup may include Ideation's local data. We do not control or access those backups.
Security
Your data remains on your device and benefits from iOS security features (device passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and encrypted device storage). Because we do not receive your data, we cannot recover it if it is lost.

If our website links to third-party pages (e.g., support articles), those sites have their own policies. Please review them separately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page if the app adds features like iCloud sync or collaboration. For material changes, we will update the effective date and summarize what changed.
